This is a great resource for asking and answering questions!

What I prefer about Duolingo… is it has this forum! LingoDeer only has an unofficial Reddit one and it’s nowhere near as active as this one. It’s more focused on the learning aspect and not competing (being OCD lol). LingoDeer doesn’t have leaderboard achievements, and its top streak is 30 days. There are a lot of achievements that Duo will have you spending way too much time focusing on XP (for the leaderboards) or maintaining a streak of over 6 months. I mean like you got this far in, with a 270 streak, almost a year, and 3 languages so far in, you can, but I would stay to become even more knowledgeable and smarter :)February 7, 2021culturacineseok thank youFebruary 7, 2021EarleyGraveI’ve used both, and I think LingoDeer is actually better at progressively explaining things and building on what they’ve already covered (Duolingo seems a lot more random).

But the Duo notes are helpful ! February 7, 2021culturacineseI am concentrating a lot on Asian languages so should I use lingodeer to do my Asian languages and duolingo to do my Spanish lesson?February 7, 2021andypinguwiPlus411Yup ! At least that’s what works for me, I use LingoDeer for Korean and Duo for French ! They’re both great in their own ways ! February 7, 2021culturacineseok thank youFebruary 7, 2021TypicalTGPersonally I like Duolingo better cause it is motivating and a little fun, not too much fun, but a little, and pretty educational.February 7, 2021culturacinesebut I think that maybe duolingo is better for people who start from scratch or learning new alphabets and lingodeer is better if you are more advanced?February 7, 2021TypicalTGMaybe. And if you have the option, I would just recommend using both, like I do!February 7, 2021andypinguwiPlus411As much as I love Duo, the answer is a hard YES ! But only for Asian languages because LingoDeer really eases you into the topics and Duo leaves you feeling overwhelmed by throwing A LOT of unfamiliar concepts from the very beginning. Additionally, you have to pay for Lingodeer! Honestly, they’re both pretty great though, so do whatever you think is best for your learning style.

But at the same time, there are more entertaining things to do in Duo, like the shops and forum. Is lingodeer better than duolingo?culturacinesei am thinking of using lingodeer if it’s betterFebruary 7, 2021ġ7 Commentstati_207I do believe there are things about Lingodeer that are better explained and make a bit more sense, like how the lessons are formatted. I am thinking of using lingodeer if it’s betterįorum>Topic: Japanese>is lingodeer better than duol…
